Myanmar has confirmed its first case of swine a after a schoolgirl returning from Singapore tested positive for the virus, state radio reported.

Myanmar has confirmed its first case of swine fu (H1N1 influenza) after a schoolgirl returning from Singapore tested positive for the virus, state radio reported on Saturday. The 13-year-old was sent to a hospital in Yangon on Friday after showing flu symptoms while at school. Tests carried out on Saturday showed she had been infected with H1N1, Myanmar Radio said. Laos and Cambodia reported their first cases on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. Neighbouring Thailand, which has detected more than 1,200 cases since May 12, reported its first two deaths on Saturday.
